With the release of version 2.29.20.0, the new user profile interface is now live.
In previous versions, when a user was selected in operator mode a sub-menu would appear with various user profile options. We’ve found that with some site theme designs, this sub-menu displaying below other navigation menus pushed the page content below the fold. Additionally, it could be laborious to read through the profile options to find the interface you were searching for:
In this new version, we’ve taken the learnings from last year’s Admin UI refresh and brought them to the front-end. We’ve removed the additional user menu from the page, replacing it with a new user profile page. Clicking on the context user in the top-left hand corner of the screen will take you directly to the page where you’ll find a streamlined interface with bold icons and explanatory text for each section:
No functionality has been lost, we’ve just simplified the way you can access the options.
While the benefits of this update will primarily aid with operator transactions on traditional PC and Mac browsing, this interface also works much better for mobile browsing on tablets and phones and is the first step toward improving the self-service functionality for your customers.
